Interestingly, all of those seven/four are shelf-stable (or, in one case, refrigerated cookie dough); none are fresh-baked varieties. So it is with surprise and pleasure that I report to you how good these new molasses cookies are. They're soft and full of molasses flavor, nicely balanced by a bit of cinnamon, ginger, and cloves.

There is a very nice spice beyond just ginger. The cons: The package contains 12 cookies. If you need more than that you'll need to pick up a few of these. The verdict: For $2.99, these were as easy as it gets. If you don't already have all the ingredients lined up to make gingerbread, then this may represent a savings as opposed to stocking up.
